Ok, I had to construct one. I've had one in my head for a long while, but every since my mom passed away, then my heart attack, it's difficult for a natural planner like me to avoid listing out things I absolutely want to do before I die. My mom wanted to do a lot she let herself be too afraid to do, and I absolutely refuse to be that way.
So, in no particular order, here is what I'd love to do (and I will update as I think of more):
- Tour as much of Europe as I can, specifically the UK, France, Germany and Italy
- UK - London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Dublin, Stonehenge, White Cliffs of Dover, castles
- France - Paris, Nice, chateaus, Normandy
- Italy - Everywhere
- Germany - Berlin, Neuschwanstein Castle
- Visit Antarctica. Yes, the idea of that boat ride from Argentina in the crazy rough waters where the Pacific meets the Atlantic seems insane, you only live once
- Visit Japan
- Visit more of Canada
- Visit Machu Picchu
- Visit the Pyramids of Giza
- Visit Australia/New Zealand
- Visit the Great Wall of China
- Visit the Taj Mahal
- Visit the Galapagos Islands
- Visit Petra
- Visit Iceland
- Visit Singapore
- Finish my baseball stadium tour. All I have left are the Atlanta Braves, Miami Marlins, Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers. That is, until the A's get their new Vegas stadium.
- Visit the Baseball Hall of Fame
- Move out of Texas. Seattle or somewhere in Colorado, if domestic. Otherwise, somewhere in Europe.
- Finish my US states. Hawaii, Alaska, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota are all I have left.
- Finish my Presidential burial site visits. Gerald Ford, George HW Bush and Jimmy Carter are all I have left, as of today.
- Drive a race car on a race track
- Deep sea fishing
- See the northern lights
- Drive Route 66
- Go on a safari
- Ride a transcontinental railroad across Canada
- Ride a railroad through Europe
- Finish the AFI Top 100 films of all time. I only have about 20 left.
- Venues at which I need to see shows:
- Red Rocks
- First Avenue
- 40 Watt
- Cains Ballroom
- 9:30 Club in DC
- Hollywood Bowl
- Ryman Auditorium
- Madison Square Garden
- Bluebird Cafe
- Kessler Theater (easy)
- The Sphere
- The Stone Pony
- Carnegie Hall
- Apollo Theater
- Fillmore in San Francisco
- Whisky a Go-Go
- Troubadour
- Bowery Ballroom
- The Gorge
- The Greek Theater
- Academy of Music in Philadelphia
- Radio City Music Hall
- Boch Center/Wang Theater in Boston
Whew!
